FAQ

What methods does CCT use?

We take a balanced approach utilizing all tools with a focus on positive reinforcement. There is no one size fits all for dog training and behavior modification. Each dog/handler team is unique. CCT will take the time to get to know you and your dog, your training goals, and your current struggles to create a plan that benefits both handler and dog.

What sets CCT apart from other dog training companies?

CCT provides convenient, effective training solutions for busy families and professionals. CCT began training with an “all positive” approach, which was very helpful but fell short in some areas. We create custom training plans to achieve lasting results. We look at why the dog is engaging in a behavior, what motivates the dog, safety, and realistic solutions for the dog/handler team.

How do I know which training package is right for me and my dog?

During our initial training lesson, we will determine which training package is best based on your goals for training and our assessment of what it will take to achieve your goals.

How long and often are training sessions?

Our foundation lesson will be about one and a half hours; follow up lessons are one hour. Training lessons are conducted on a weekly basis, but this may be adjusted as needed. Significant gaps between lessons are counterproductive and we take our student’s success seriously. Please see our cancellation policy.

How do I sign up with CCT?

To sign up for your foundation lesson, you will need to fill out the “Contact Form” listed in the site navigation bar and provide a copy of your dog’s vaccine record (we do accept titers). Once these items are received, we will contact you via text, email, or short phone call to set up our foundation lesson. Due to time constraints, we do not discuss potential cases until the Intake Form is received. We cannot give any training or behavior advice prior to working with you and your dog.

What resources are available when training has been completed?

You will get a recap and supplementals at the end of each lesson. These are a road map for your homework and training success. At the end of each lesson, you will initial what we covered during our lesson - accountability is essential. At the conclusion of your training package, you can refer back to the items as needed and you can reach out to me at any time with any questions.

What is your cancellation policy?

You must notify us of a reschedule at least 48 hours prior to your lesson to keep that lesson. Cancellations less than 48 hours prior to a lesson are counted as a “used” lesson. If you cancel three or more lessons, your training contract will be terminated without refund. CCT does not give refunds – signing up with us is a commitment and our time is valuable.

When is payment due and what payment options are available?

Payment for the initial lesson is due at the time of booking through Square. Payment for packages is due at the end of the initial lesson. We offer a 5% discount for cash payments. *discounts cannot be combined

Do first responders/military/teachers get a discount?

We offer a 5% discount for first responders, active/retired military, and teachers. *discounts cannot be combined

Do you offer a discount for training multiple dogs within a household?

No. We focus on one dog at a time, or you may enroll each dog in a training program. Previous experience has taught me that multi dog households require more work, time, and attention.

Where will lessons be conducted?

Our foundation lesson will be conducted in your home. As we progress with training, we will work outside of you home in predetermined locations such as a park, pet friendly store, etc. based on your training goals.

Does CCT offer any guarantees?

CCT will provide you with the training and appropriate tools for your dog’s success. However, training is a lifelong process that requires consistency. You are responsible for your dog’s success.
